Texas Turkey Chiliposted by Jennifer
Our Sunday school class always gets together every year for the Super Bowl, and my great friend Mary Alice had a brilliant idea…. a Souper Super Bowl Party! This turkey chili has been our comfort food this winter. Its an easy recipe you can prepare ahead of time and reheat when you’re ready. Have a great Super Bowl Weekend everyone! And may your favorite team win!
- 1 large Onion
- 1 Red Bell Pepper
- 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
- 1 Jalepeno
- 8 cloved Garlic
- 1 TBS powdered Beef Bouillon in 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 10oz can Rotel
- 3 14.5 oz cans Fire Roasted Tomatoes
- 1 15 oz can Pinto Beans (drained)
- 1 15 oz can Kidney Beans (drained)
- 1 15 oz can Black Beans (drained)
- 1 15 oz can Corn (not drained)
- 1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 TBS Salt
- 1 TBS Pepper
- 1 TBS Garlic Powder
- 3 TBS Chile Powder
- 1 tsp Cayenne
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 2 lbs ground Turkey Meat
I do all of this in my crock pot, but you can do it on the stove as well!
Roughly chop and seed the bell peppers, jalepeno, onion, and garlic and add to a food processor.
Process until there are no big chunks of any vegetable. I process just enough there there is a good consistency but not soupy.
Add the veggies to your pot or crock pot and add in the turkey meat, seasonings, and Worcestershire. Sauté until turkey meat is cooked through.
Once the meat is cooked add in the rest of the ingredients; beans, corn, tomatoes, and rotel. Mix thoroughly and simmer on low for an hour.
Serve with cheese, light sour cream, sliced onions, and sliced jalepenos if you need an extra bite!
